Sean Pate
Head of Corporate Communications, Stubhub
  Widely recognized as one of the foremost experts on the secondary ticket industry, Sean Pate has appeared in countless print publications, online forums and news broadcasts to discuss and debate some of the industry's most compelling and controversial issues. Sean joined the StubHub team in 2005 working closely with founder Jeff Fluhr to build advocacy for the StubHub business model and the secondary ticket market in general. In doing so, he has helped spark new thinking around the opportunities, benefits and value created by an open-market ticket exchange where sellers compete with one another in a fixed pricing battle for the buyer's business.
Serving as the voice of the world's largest ticket marketplace, Sean has helped journalists and the general public better understand the evolution of the multi-billion dollar ticketing business, which has seen a tremendous transformation in the 21st century spawned by the growth of the Internet and the deregulation of age-old anti-scalping legislation. His unique insights have hit the pages of the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, and USA TODAY to name just a few. His perspective is valued by leading industry analysts, and his work has helped break down barriers with leagues, teams, venues, and most importantly, fans, who have grown to understand and rely on the ease, comfort, security and overarching value StubHub provides.
Prior to joining StubHub, Sean held the position of district public relations manager at Robert Half International, the world's first and largest specialized staffing firm. Prior, he served as a senior public relations specialist at Oracle, where Sean oversaw and managed enterprise software initiatives on behalf of the organization. He also worked for the Pacific-10 Conference, where he coordinated media information for Pac-10 football, women's basketball, softball and wrestling.
Sean is a graduate of Arizona State University, where he received a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology.
