Stephen Shapiro
Assistant Professor, Old Dominion University
Dr. Stephen Shapiro is currently an Assistant Professor of Sport Management at Old Dominion University. Dr. Shapiro’s line of research is focused in the areas of financial management in college athletics and ticket pricing in college and professional sport. He has published research on price determinants in the secondary market, sport fan consumption behavior, and college athletic donor behavior.
Dr. Shapiro has published articles in journals including the International Journal of Sport Finance, Sport Management Review, Sport Marketing Quarterly, and International Journal of Sport Management. In addition, he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in sport finance, statistics, and research methods. Dr. Shapiro completed his Ph.D. at the University of Northern Colorado in 2008. Prior to his doctoral work, he attained a Bachelor’s degree in Advertising and a Masters degree in Business Management at the University of Central Florida.
